This is a new IBM page that provides a long-requested list of the service unit (SU) per second values that are used by the Systems Resource Manager (SRM). In the past, people have had to wait until an APAR was issued that contained the SU/Sec values or until the Initialization and Tuning Guide was published. On this new page, IBM has also added the model identifier that is stored in the machine, the version code, and the number of CPs. Many thanks to Steve Olenik from Poughkeepsie for this neat addition to the Web!
Subscribers to Cheryl Watson’s TUNING Letter and CPU Chart have access to all these values, along with the processor groups, MSUs, associated uni-processor speed and our MIPS ratings by workload. If you’re a subscriber and don’t have the new models in your copy of the CPU Chart, you can call for a fax of the updates or send an email with your name, company, and street address to admin@watsonwalker.com.
