1.  Updates to CPU Chart

An update to our January 2001 CPU Chart will be sent with our TUNING Letter 2001, No. 1 which will be emailed this week and mailed next week. There are two items:
 

• Amdahl updated the service unit per second value for their three Omniflex servers a few months ago, but their Web site wasn't updated until February. See <http://www.amdahl.com/doc/products/compatible/speed_constants/> for their updated list.
• Thanks to Svend Kjaer of DMdata Denmark for pointing out that when I changed the CPU Chart to carry the updated MIPS for the 2064 series, I forgot to make all the necessary changes. The uni service unit per second rate for the 101 to 109 models needed to be changed and the MP ratio for models 110 to 116 needed to be based on the 1C1 instead of the 101. 


2.  New Redbook for OS/390 R10

A great new Redbook has just been announced: SG24-5976-00 - OS/390 Version 2 Release 10  Implementation. You can download it from: <http://ibm.com/redbooks>. It covers 64-bit considerations, as well as most of the other new features of R10.
